This Wicked Precipice We Chose

They speak a little sense but then it all comes down to the slow churning of an insufficient political engine that sucks up time as though time wasn't a precious commodity.  Who are they?  Steny Hoyer and John Boehner.   What is it they speak of?  Whether or not to support the President's non-binding resolution to step up the war effort in Iraq as well as to increase the funding.

Boehner says they should support the resolution because after all it is non-binding and that they also should be allowed to do an up-down vote on the Republican plan which is to increase the funding so they can allow more troops to go to Iraq in the interest of safety.

Hoyer submits that a non-binding resolution was voted on by Republicans back in 95 before the war and it was a disaster as it was later applied to this war. Political posturing dictates these so called non-binding resolutions so I believe Americans had better sit up and take notice whenever we hear this term.  Most of them are taking up air time and serve only to puff up the egos of those who engage in the efforts to pass or not pass them.

In the case of these wars and those on the near horizon, non-binding resolutions have no place.

There currently seems a rush to vote on half-cooked recipes for the next leg of this war--leg of lamb comes to mind.  This group of folks needs to quit attaching so many things on to something that should read plainly.  The words used become subject to interpretation when they throw in their gobbly-gook and fatten the file.  I suggest they keep it simple and decide each item in order so that each item voted on has a date of implementation which will help us to prevent the cart going before the horse and also so we have a clear goal outlining where we hope to be in each step of action and the funding of actions.

This war could very well be the silencing of the lambs.  We removed Saddam and now are engaged with the regions fanatics who are worse than an average terrorist.  They seek to destroy Israel because it is the fanatics cause.  We thought that beast was dealt a mortal wound back in W.W. II but it turns out we were wrong- for it is coming back to life before our eyes.

Since we allowed ourselves to become motivated by the energy industries and we attempted to set up shop in Iraq, those in Israel have never been more in harm's way.  We will realize soon, that we are damned if we stay in the area and we will be damned if we pull out.  The blood of Israel and all nearby regions shall be upon our heads, including the already sacrificed Palestinians.  They are sitting ducks, too.  I distrust all talks I've heard by all parties because as I first said, they are half-cooked and ladeled with posturing.

We must come up with another solution that surpasses what is currently offered.  Love conquers all.  Take the children's remote controlled toys and go by air, land and water to release a potent love potion upon all hot-spots from Afghanistan to every boarder.  A loving nerve gas if you will.  We can then go and pick out the fanatics one by one and set them up to help us mine Mars in underground prison camps.  Ok so that is a bit much.  Besides we don't have the funding for that.  If you think about it, it does give a new meaning to "A little child shall lead them."   Spank them with toys delivering the love of a child.

I hope someone reads this.

We are damned if we leave and damned if we stay--but we are the Romans of this age and the world "is" ours.  We are the enemy if only because we live and and do we really want to die?  It is the sorry price we pay for our strength.

Sucks up time as though time wasn't a precious commodity--great line.  I hope your sons are safe.  L
