Train on the Fast Track

Imagine please, a fast train, a locomotive if you wish.  It keeps going and going.  One stop after another is passed up.  The train keeps going.  Along the way some of the passengers begin to grumble.  They have other things to do and need to at some point, take another route.  This requires they be let off at a station but the locomotive doesn't care.  It just keeps going.  So the passengers begin to war inside and even war with each other.  The louder they get, the faster the train goes.  What that train needs is some kind of braking system.

The train is like our governing administrations.  They have no braking system if you remove the filibuster.

The filibuster is a tool our representatives can use to alert us.  When we hear of a filibuster on an issue, we the people are supposed to find out what we think about that particular issue then write our newspapers to get dialog going and also write our representatives.

In my grandfather's days, they used the filibuster to indefinately stall important decisions from being met, important issues from being discussed.  This is NOT what a filibuster is to be used for, so we evoked a cloture(sp) which gave us back a filibuster to slow the damn train down!

For an update on the argument which is intended to keep the filibuster in place or to completely do away with it so the House can run over the people with their agenda without ever having to ask us what we think, please follow this link.

Letter of Response to Cox.Net

Our Sins-Our Woes (goals)

I'm sad.  I'm mortified and shaken from the core.  Why haven't we found a better way to live and let live?  Inhumanity is spreading.

The British invaded Ireland to grab much needed resources.  They invaded Italy to dispose of Mussolini.  It was all done because allegiances had shifted and Mussolini was a murderer.  In 1946 Churchill gave his "Iron Curtain" speech at Westminster with Truman looking upon him in awe.  America and England called themselves the deed holders to the title of democracy.  It was their message at the time; they would be bringing it to the entire world.

Meanwhile, The Muslim League had formed and by Oct. 1946, over a million Hindus had been violated in the worst humanly possible way then slaughtered.  Where were the title holders of democracy while that was happening?  Guess there wasn't anyone to tell them they were the wrong country at the wrong time.

Years later after a series of non-war wars, Afghanistan and Pakistan are kind-of-pals to us, the Mussolini of Iraq has been disposed, we now grab the resources we need to move in on Iran.  They control a great portion of the natural gas reserves coming out of the "Bottomless Pit" (Caspian Sea).

We are pals with China, a country that doesn't support anything we say we stand for yet they own our debt and can at will sell it to the highest or even the lowest bidder.  No one tells the Chinese they have to get a profit.  In fact, they can sell off our debt to bin Laden if they choose to.  The Chinese assimilate territories by force and destroy historical archives as they did to the monks of Tibet  while disallowing anything smacking of dissent including pics of the Dali Lama. They have moved like solitary bees into the rocky cliffs of the Himalayans.  This has the people of India shaking once again.  Will the world stand by watching another grand scale massacre  in the name of procuring "resources" and an "advantageous position"?
I'm sad. Ashamed.  This won't go on much longer.  We were promised.

Chelle Stockman

Note:  That 70's Show reminded me about the gas crunch of old, when the country went Japanese.  In the 60's therewas a campaign to buy American goods with the fear of the day being that Americans would lose their pensions and blue-collar jobs because Japan could become the producer of our cars. No more unions to glue us together, worker and company.

Today the rising costs and fervor over gas has everything to do with public transportation.  They will encourage us to use public transportation so they can justify raping the Caspian Sea, New Guinea, and other such natural gas rich countries.  You see, most public transportation runs off compressed natural gas and they wish for our homes to be dependent on natural gas which they sell us as cheaper.  You and I are familiar with the term inflation.  Nothing is ever cheaper unless it is junk.

Even our President tells us if we want things to be less harmful to our environment we will have to pay more(hitting us in our wallets) as is the case with mercury residuals left behind from our "cheap" cost of electricity.  Thank you American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) you right hand of the Republican Party.  Thank you Enron, you number three clients of American Legislative Exchange Council, you.  Thank you for your lies, your deceit, and your broken promises.  (Where is 60 Minutes when we need them?)

In our town we kept Liquid Natural Gas facilities away but they will return.  Mark my words.   Yes it is cheaper.  It appears to burn slightly cleaner, but it freezes as it rises to the atmosphere then falls into our waterways.  They don't tell us everything.  They never will.  It is about using resources to get where they ultimately want us to be, where ever the Hell that is.  Hell.. yeah... that's it.

A Heavenly Ride To Hell.

My Response to a letter Joe sent to me.

I said it all along; Terri Schiavo is a pawn in a political agenda that was intended to head straight for the Supreme Court.  The motive?  To give parents (men) the rights over their child's right to live (over the mothers-to-be who don't wish to be mothers).

Are we surprised by this?  This isn't the only trick up their sleeve.  Stay tuned.

Subj: Congress must stop grandstanding on the Schiavo tragedy  Date: 3/23/2005 5:19:12 PM Pacific Standard Time From: To:

Dear friend:

On Sunday, Tom DeLay and Bill Frist, the Republican congressional leaders, convened an emergency meeting of Congress to pass a bill that recklessly interferes in the tragedy surrounding Terri Schiavo.

Frist and DeLay claim that they're acting out of concern for Ms. Schiavo.  But a memo intended only for Republican Senators--uncovered by ABC News--reveals Republicans' true concern: "The pro-life base will be excited...this is a great political issue...this is a tough issue for Democrats."  This story also takes the heat off Tom DeLay, who is facing a number of serious ethics charges and legal scandals.

Americans can have different personal opinions about what should happen to Terri Schiavo--life is precious, and this case raises some important ethical questions. But we can all agree that that's what the courts are for: to make the call in difficult circumstances.  That's why Congress' interference is such an ugly and shameful incident of political grandstanding.

Will you sign this petition to tell Congress they must stop using one person's tragedy for their own political gain, and move on to the important business facing our country?

Thanks.

Mrs. Schiavo: Wanted More Dead Than Alive

Hey folks.  It isn't a matter of party politics, right?  It is a question of what is humane.  What would Mrs. Schiavo want?  Who can answer that best?  Her husband maybe. Maybe not.  Her parents?  I doubt it, though I do believe they love her dearly.

She will never function normally.  She isn't the woman Mr. Schiavo married either.  She can't be a wife to him.  Perhaps he should divorce her and the parents could resume care for her along with fiduciary responsibility.  But would that be humane?

I believe at this point, her husband is making the more humane case.  He knows she would never want to go on in this life not being able to contribute to the quality of life of others.  Nor would she want everyone catering to her needs without being able to return the favors.  I'm guessing about this of course.  There are those on earth who are selfish and couldn't care whatsoever about others.  Was the healthy Mrs. Schiavo this kind of person?  I think both her parents and her husband would answer, "No."

(This should not be something we decide federally and it smacks of other arguments to come, especially in the case of abortions.  Would a child being born to parents that didn't want it wish to be born into this world?  Again, only that child could answer that question and by the time it did, it could be too late.)

Some will say it will be so cruel to let her starve.  I agree; however, we must weigh the degree of cruelty to her through starving versus years and years of her under her parents care on feeding tubes till the day they die.  What happens when they die?  Who will see to it she is hooked to those feeding tubes when they pass on?  She will have to die one day and if it is God's will and nature's will, we must ask ourselves; "What argument can we ethically make to prolong her inevitable suffering?"

Sincerely,

Chelle Stockman

Something So Simple!

On the way to school, my son informs me, "Mother, I conquered Ireland last night." To which I replied, "You little shit, why the hell did ya do that?"

"Resources mom.  I needed their resources in order to keep persuing the real enemy.  I took over southern Italy too."

"Even Calabra?"  I could see his response in my rear view mirror.  "Tell me you didn't invade Napoli."

"I had to mom.  Mussolini was a shit and the Germans were occupying a great deal of Italy."

"So you basically invaded the countries of our family.  I ought to whoop you good."

He was England in this battle.  I dropped them off and considered how war is fought then the most simple explanation for Iraq jumped out at me.  I remembered  Governor Bush of Texas announcing he was going after Russia's temporary leader, Putin. (2-16-2000)  I remembered how our country was wanting revenge on Iran for the 1970s.  It occured to me that we went to Iraq to secure "resources" and a more advantageous position.  This my friends, is merely a skirmish, one thats costing trillions and lives, but its a teensy battle compared to what we really have planned.   Stay tuned.

What do Bush and Balaam have in common?

The donkey walked with the burden of an elephant upon its back.  This prophet grew frustrated because the donkey kept veering off the "fast track."  The prophet had an agenda to bring to those in another territory and he had to do it right away in order to reap the profits.  Finally, just up ahead he saw a flame and a sword which he assumed was divine providence and a mandate from the people.

The donkey said, "Hell no.  We must not go."

The prophet (profiteer) was so impatient, so spoiled and tired of being disagreed with he got off to beat the donkey down and cried out, "If the Democrats aren't with us, they will be left behind."

Of course, the donkey knowing nothing else but what it is to be made a fool of by the elephant sized burden he has always carried, sees instead of an angelic mandate, sees the grim reaper and responds to the prophet, "This is one trip you make without my support, Bub."

Thought you folks might enjoy a little biblical story spun in the modern day.  Numbers 22:1 to 40 is quite interesting.  It would seem that the donkey has always carried the burden and suffered humility for daring to be only what it has ever been, a donkey.  The donkey won't change, it will always carry the burden of an elephant upon its back.  Even a donkey has its limits.  Like Balaam the prophet for profits, Bush insists his way is the right way because his god has ordained it so.  Like Balaam, Bush is a gentile and isn't kind to his beasts of burden.  Who better recognizes the fool Bush is than those who have had to carry his agenda upon their shoulders?  I suggest the Democrats tell him,  "since you insist on fast tracking us along your path in the name of profits, you will do so without our support.  Let those who want what you are selling pay for it out of their own reserves."

When Threatened We React On A Grand Ol Scale--Country Style

In history, when America has come under attack, we summon up all the anger and carefully package it in fear so we are armed with the verve it takes to go kick some "mutha f*ck*n butt."(American soldiers I spoke with)  It has always been that way. America knows how to react because we have elected reationary leaders.  When we don't take our time to think things through, we are prone to reacting rather than responding.  It is odd that a president should be given the title of Commander in Chief when it takes careful thinking and pressure through a plan of response( opposite of reaction).

I believe our current president isn't a fit commander in chief.  He tends to react and the war on Iraq was an agenda he had when he was still governor of Texas.  He exploited Sept. 11th to go after Iraq rather than quell the terrorism of the world.  In fact, his so called actions have led us into a reactionary war and never have I seen so many terrorists born around the globe.

I believe our president seeks to move us all into his mother's womb, well some of us(do you look smashing in red?).  Think back to the good ol days of President Truman and Winston Churchill.  It was a time where well to do white folks sat in smoking parlours and reveled in the prospects of peace.  The year:1946.  Churchill gave his famous "Iron Curtain" speech to Westminster College where Truman was proud and in awe.  In that speech, Britain and America held the deed to democracy and it was up to us to bring the concepts of freedom and democracy to the rest of the savage world.  Upon hearing this, a movement began in the areas we call the middle east up to the areas we call Afghanistan.  A huge group of grizzly savages, we would call them terrorists in today's world, went after the Hindu people.  By October of 1946, the feared Muslim League who the British and Americans refused to acknowlege at that time had already brutally slaughtered over a million Hindu people.  The message of retalliation to that part of the world was, "They bring you freedom, we bring you the call of the Muslim."

We wage democracy as if it were War.  We wage war where we gift others with democracy while doing business and sipping tea with those who aren't democratic countries.  Is it no wonder other countries think they can play us like a fiddle?  Is it no wonder that we are heading into another war before we even finish this one?  Violins have always made me cry as the weeping chords strike me deep within my soul.  How poignant of them to pluck the American strings in their attempt to fit into the harmony we hope to provide.

Our harmonious nation isn't perfect and some with good old fashioned American Pride claim, "It is the best in the world." Where ever our mothers and fathers, our siblings and children can run, work, breath clean air, drink clean water, have roofs over our heads and not be unfairly taxed: this is the best place in the world.  We create in our own corner "the best place".

I hope other countries will treat their people fairly.  Shame on Sudan.  Shame on China.  Shame on the greedy cabinets and leaders of this world who exploit the political dissent of its people. To you leaders I say, you exploit the divisions today, but your legacy will be annihalation and devastation.

When a nation such as ours goes in to other countries with our principles in mind and our own problems exposed (or covered up) there will surely be a war.

September 11th should have fortified us, made us think, gathered us, armed us, trained us all, and secured our "grain houses" prior to responding.  We should have allowed our growing strength to create a more proper fear in the heart of the terrorists.  Have we learned from this?  I seriously doubt it.

This is my diary entry for the week because I'm unable to do much online these days.
